Marie-Claire is an experienced teacher of electronic keyboard and flute. She studied keyboard with Steve Hepple in Sheffield and upon reaching sixth form she started teaching keyboard to primary school children in Steve's studio. During this time she also became a Licensee of the Victoria College of Music with a teaching diploma and finally became a Fellow at the age of 17.

She then moved to Liverpool where she studied for a BA in Music, teaching keyboard and flute privately to pupils in their homes to pay for her train tickets home. Marie-Claire graduated from University at the age of 20 with a 2.1 BA (hons) Music.

Since then Marie-Claire has taken a break from the Music world. She has married, learned to drive, bought a car and worked in health insurance as well as Hotels in Crieff in Scotland and Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

In January 2005 she moved to Linlithgow when her husband Ben accepted a job as Underbutler at the prestigious 5-star Howard Hotel in Edinburgh. Both she and Ben love living in Scotland and plan to make their home here buying a house in the new year.

Marie-Claire has now returned to the world of music like a prodigal daughter and is taking flute lessons with Ruth Morley of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She is seeking part-time peripatetic teaching work and has applied to the academy to pursue a post-graduate degree in performance starting September 2006.

She will continue with instrumental teaching whilst at college and for sometime afterwards until she establishes herself as a professional flautist.
